Rafting Junkies on the American Rivers

Posted: September 28th, 2009

Feedback from a group that just can’t seem to get enough. Fours trips in so far and talk of another in the works.

On September 19th and 20th my team and I enjoyed our third and fourth whitewater trip with AO in the past 3 months! We started this new adventure with AO late in the season but could not get enough. Having rafted the South and Middle Fork twice we can’t wait for the big guns next Spring. The craving for more came after our first trip down the South Fork with Lynsey, an amazing woman with an infectious personality and sweet disposition. The very next day I was on the internet booking our next trip down the Middle Fork. The next thing we knew we were splashing around with Dane, our playful thrill seeking guide along the 16 mile stretch of river! Read more…

Middle Fork American 2-Day Trip August 28, 2009

Posted: September 28th, 2009

A couples trip on the Middle Fork American River.

Jeff

First off, I just want to say that working with Ian in reservations to set up our trip was easy and he made the planning of the trip very convenient. Kind of one stop shopping… He told me what was available, what was
the most economical trip for our group, what camp sites were available and full and what hotels were the best…

Second, when we got there, our guides Dayne and Kelly were friendly and well informed. They gave us some great last minute suggestions and helped us get ready for our adventure. The trip was amazing. I have included our photos from Tunnel Chute. Our small group felt like we had a ‘personalized trip’. Dayne and Kelly
made sure to stop so we could scout the bigger rapids but also took time on our two day trip to let us “see the sights”. We took several hikes, saw waterfalls, lunched in leisure and overall learned the history of the
great “Gold Rush” and how this part of California played such a huge part in the history of America.

We had driven in from Utah the night before the trip so although we offered to assist with dinner prep and clean up, our guides knew we were tired and we were given time to relax and play while dinner and desert were being prepared by them. Chicken, potatoes, salad – better food than I make at home.

Sleeping on the bank of the river was awesome. Beautiful stars and the moon shining overhead. The rush of the water not far from our beds allowed all of us to sleep like baby’s after a nice first day on the river.

Breakfast was a delicious mix of fruit, Kelly’s famous eggs and other goodies to carry us over for the day and we loved the initially slow meander down river to be followed by several exhilarating Class 3’s and 4’s to
finish the day in grand style.

We will absolutely be back next year. In fact, we are already working on some other couples to trek out and come with us on the three day – Tuolumne next spring.

All Outdoors lives up to every award ever given. It’s no wonder you have been voted TOPS in the rafting industry.

Can’t wait to get out on the river again soon.

A gal from Sacramento decided to put her “Frequent Floater” credit toward a day on Cherry Creek.

Dear Diana,

HI! Cherry Creek was AWESOME!!! It was by far the best rafting experience ever! I was extremely satisfied with the trip…it left me wanting more! I cannot wait to go again next season. The whitewater was exquisite, beautiful and daunting. There is no other river like it, and I cannot boast enough about the experience! Danny was my guide, and he was so fabulous. The best guide by far in my opinion. He really knew the river like the back of his hand! His skills were very impressive! I honestly can’t think of any improvements you guys could make. I love All Outdoors, and will never raft with anyone else! Did you get a chance to go yet Diana? Obviously, I would REALLY recommend it!

Talk to you soon,
Lauren B :)

A group of 19 coworkers from Kaiser joined us for a 1-Day trip down the lower South Fork American.

All 19 of us had a blast during our trip down the American River!

I do plan on rafting down the river again next Spring. I’d be happy to receive a reminder.

All-Outdoors guides were wonderful. 85% of the people going on this trip didn’t know how to swim. The guides really made everyone one of them feel at ease once we got into the water. Laura was the guide on my raft and she was awesome! Everyone at All-Outdoors were very friendly.

We all are going to recommend this place to all our friends.

See you in the Spring!

Tom Sawyer Float Trip August 22-23, 2009

Feedback from a customized Tom Sawyer Family Float Trip on the South Fork American.

HI Gregg,

What a wonderful trip!!! We enjoyed everything from the fresh fruit, chips,,,,to dinner!! The guides were very knowledgeable and were great with the kids. That was very important that they were very patient and really kept them involved.Kept telling them exactly what was coming up, what to expect, when they could jump into the water. I have to say when we come back again we will ask for them by name.

The husbands were with Erin and with her physics and math background, the men had a great time picking her brains. 2 of the fathers are doctors so they enjoyed talking with her. Mason was just awesome to have as a guide. He would always ask the kids if they wanted to try another maneuver or trick down the rapids.

The only one that I would say no to again was the one he called the Boogie Woogie dance. Something like that, we sat on the bottom of the raft and when we went down the little rapid we got absolutely soaked!!! It was very fun for the kids to see the moms with our mouths open and screaming how cold the water was.

We could not have asked for a better weekend. The little guys did very well. They had sad faces when we first took off without them. I did give my girlfriend a bottle of wine to say thanks for watching the kids, b/c she missed out on the fun rapids. The float was ok. too bad they can’t do a little more advance rapids, but they didn’t complain b/c they didn’t know what they were missing. The 3 little ones were great troopers, they had the most fun when it came to the camping and tents etc….s’mores, sleeping in dirty clothes. They loved it all.

Thank you again for taking the time to work with us and planning it all out!! I think the thing i liked the most about your company was that when i first inquired it was through the e-mail, and i think it was Thereasa who called me back to follow up. If i hadn’t received a message back i never would have called. As it was, i was just calling to say thank you for responding. I am from the old age of pre-computers and sometimes it is frustrating to feel that all communication now a days is through the Internet. I always would prefer to speak to somebody. So, that is a thumbs up for your company and we can tell that the guides enjoy working for you and your family. They only had nice things to say about you and your family run business. Being
a small business owner ourselves, we will always support that.

So, thank you thank you thank you. The kids are already asking to plan our next trip!! I am sure you will hear from us soon.

take care,

Sharon Liebl

Feedback from a Middle Fork American 1-day Trip on August 22, 2009.

Roxanne,

It was beyond my family’s expectations. We loved every minute of it, even during the slow parts of the rafting. We had an excellent guide named Cameron and he was fun to talk to during the trip. He took us on an interesting hike with a beautiful waterfall that looked like we were in another country (some exotic island) and we took a great picture with him.

We would love to plan another trip, I’ve already sent out photos of our adventure and I’m hoping to recruit more people to AO. AO were very friendly and professional, and I was impressed with the healthy lunch they prepared for such a large group of people.

My two sons are looking forward to booking their next trip on the Cherry Creek experience. I think they’re hooked.

Thank you for your great customer service.

Feedback from the South Fork American River.

Hi Diana,

It is funny you should E-mail me. I was going to e-mail you to let you know we had a great time! Our guide was Erica and she was great. It was the first time any of us had been rafting and we are looking forward to doing it again. Camp Lotus was a very nice camp ground. It was clean and very quiet. Thank you so much for putting it all together for us.

My sister has been thinking about a trip and I have given her all of the information on All-outdoor. I think your
customer service is excellent. It started with my phone call to you. You truly sounded happy that I called. From there, all the way through, everyone was very nice and really helpful. I will be recommending your company to all of my friends and family.

Thanks for everything.

Feedback from a family rafting trip on the Tuolumne River 3-Day Trip.

Lenka,

The three day trip down the T. was superb. You could not hope to find a nicer group of people, rafters and guides alike. My 14 year old boys said it was the best thing they had ever done and it gave me a chance to bond with them without all the distractions and pressures of the modern world which tend to come between us all. I must say that the food – it’s preparation, presentation and taste – was out of this world. I simply don’t know how the tour does it, but even by day three the food was still outstanding. All the guides were charming and engaging. Particular kudos goes to our head guide Colin, who ran a very enjoyable but safe expedition. We cannot thank All Outdoors enough for giving us the time of our lives and we look forward to seeing you next year!

The Welsh Family

Feedback from a Valley Medical company trip on the Middle Fork American.

Hi Lenka,

Just wanted to reply and say that we all had an amazing trip. It was definately a great bonding experience for the 17 of us. We had a few people new to whitewater rafting, a few new to California ( and our hospital staff ) ,a few new to ALL OUTDOORS, as well as returning faithfuls. This will continue to expand as the word travels around the hospital about what a great time we all had. It was nice to see Brandon and Max from our previous trip, which made it seem that much more familiar. All the guides were, and have been, excellent. The food…has anyone really ever complained ? How can you go wrong. The food was great and it was a perfect opportunity to catch up and make fun of the other teams of rafts. In short…as always, it was a perfect trip, and one that all of the staff here at Valley Medical Center will remember and look forward to for years to come. Thanks to all of your staff who helped !

Cherry Creek Rafting – August 12, 2009

Feed back from a father and son out of Modesto who joined us for the ultimate experience.. Cherry Creek.

Roxanne,

Sorry for my delay in responding to your email.

Our trip was absolutely awesome! It was a trip I will remember forever and to have been able to share in this experience with my son before he ships out makes it that much more special for me.

Everything about this trip was first class. Especially your guides, Adam in particular. Adam very friendly and came across as being incredibly knowledgeable in what he does which made a huge difference in our confidence with each series of rapids we went through.

Your team of guides and their focus on safety made all the difference in world. I have already told so many people about this experience which I have highly recommend to everyone.

By all means feel free to contact me next summer for another trip. Speaking of which, do I have to swim across the river again? That was a killer, but I did make it. Thank god!

Also,

Thank you to the office with trying to find us a place to sleep the night prior. We got lucky and we able to stay in that Hostel in Gorveland which you informed us about.

Thanks again for the truly memorable lifetime experience.

Regards,
Kevin J. Culpepper
