Cal Salmon May 25, 2009

Feedback from the Cal Salmon On May 25, 2009.

Hi Diana,

The Cal Salmon trip was excellent. It was much different that last year. Last year the water was very high and very fast so it was a thrill a minute without much time to enjoy the scenery. This year the water was lower and the flow slower with what Adam referred to as “chunky” rapids. It was very technical and challenging in its own way. In fact, you may have heard, two boats flipped over entirely and we made a couple of other saves when individuals got tossed. It was definitely memorable.

There was more time to enjoy the spectacular canyon and the company of some great folks. I was in Adam’s raft with Kim, Eric, and RJ. We worked very well together and had a super time. It was great seeing some of the guides again who went last year and meeting some new guides as well. A great group of people to spend the day on the river with. Good food and everything was handled professionally.

AO is consistent with running great trips. I think Adam convinced me to do Cherry Creek again too, if I can find the time this summer. Thanks again for offering this trip. If there is ever an exploratory run on the Feather River, let me know. I live close and would love to do the Feather with AO.

Feedback is from a group of 2 on the California Salmon River on April 25-26.

Hi Diana,

We both had an AMAZING time!!! The river was everything we hoped it would be and then some. The guides were extremely nice and helpful and we all just had an awesome time. Trent nor I have any complaints!!

Due to getting lost, we arrived to the rafting camp really late (around 10:15 a.m.). I expected everyone to have left, however when we pulled up, all we saw were Adam and Danny’s smiling faces!! We were so stoked!!!!!!! Trent and I have rafted with A.O. two times in the past and both times were very pleasing. As I told Scott on the phone, we are more than pleased and will definately raft with A.O. in the future!

The food was really good and fresh. Presentation was nice as well. Because I am a “city slicker” I would have liked a napkin or a paper plate to put my sandwich on, but no worries because we made due.

All in all Diana, we have wonderful memories to share with our families. Trent and I would like to raft the Kaweah in late May or early June this year. Hopefully, Trent will be able to fly back out next month and I will call you to book the Kaweah within the next 14-21days.

Again, Thank You for being awesome and for giving your help and advice. You rock!!!

Talk to you soon,

Post trip response from our one and only California Salmon rafting trip of 2008.

I had an absolutely spectacular time on the Cal Salmon. The weather was perfect., the river big and fast. It ranks right up there with Cherry Creek. All the guides were friendly and helpful. I really enjoyed Lyndsey and Kelly’s camaraderie and nobody reads the river better than Adam. Scott was warm and welcoming as always. Lunch was satisfying and tasty. Please let me know if an opportunity like this happens again.

Speaking of which, Adam mentioned a possible paddle trip on Cherry Creek. If that happens I would like to be a part of it if possible. I want to do Cherry Creek again this year but I’m still trying to figure out when it will work in my calendar. The paddle trip would be my first choice but it that doesn’t materialize I’m probably looking at the weekend of the 23rd or 24th of August. Keep in touch, and thank you again. It was great to meet Darren in person too. Say hi for me.
