The trip was fantastic! We were really impressed with our guide Brian. He was an impressive raftsman (our boat had no misadventures and seemed to hit every spot perfectly), an affable and patient guide, a clear leader when other rafts had troubles, and he shared his evident passion for rafting. We were thrilled to spend our day with him. The river was tremendous fun.

Feedback from Michael K. about his family’s fourth trip down the South Fork:

Dorothy,

We were very pleased with the trip. For my 13-year-old son and me, it was our fourth trip with AO on the lower south fork. For my girlfriend, it was the first, although she has done the upper half. Our guide, Kyland, looks young but was very mature in all the ways that count on the river. It seemed to me he might have been the most skillful of all the guides I have had. The lunch was first-rate, as always. We all look forward to rafting again with you, but probably not before next year.

Dorothy,

We had a fabulous time on Saturday. The weather was perfect and the South Fork was just right for the girls since they had never rafted before. Our guide, Jerry, did an excellent job. I will fill out the review. Thanks again for an excellent job. I have used All Outdoors since the early 1980s and your staff has always been friendly and professional. I look forward to my trip on Cherry Creek in a month.

Leanne K. and her boyfriend from the UK rafted the South Fork on July 5th. They had to transfer off of the Middle Fork because river flows were to high at that time, but still had a great time and got back to us with these comments:

Hi Lenka!

We had a fantastic time on the river, we were disappointed not to be
able to do the middle fork, which I think would have been more
challenging, but we were both really grateful that you were able to
organise an alternative trip for us and I want to thank you personally
for going to such lengths to get hold of us once our original trip was
cancelled.

I really would like to commend both our guides. Dave and Ryan were
fantastic. They were knowledgable, fun and extremely competant at what
they did. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend your company to anyone
looking to do a similar trip because of their professionalism and
manner.

Once again thanks for all your help in making our trip so great. If
I’m ever back in California I will definitely look to take another trip
with yourselves.

Hi,
Our trip down the South Fork was wonderful. We enjoyed Kelsey, Cory and Kate. The day went very smoothly and we felt we were in good hands all day long. Loved the stories and games along the way.
Many of our group had been rafting with other companies yet they were all impressed with the detail to safety and fun. All Outdoors has beautiful grounds, nice way to begin the day.

Here are some thoughts from Thomas F. of Belmont, CA, who went down the South Fork of the American River with Penny on July 11th.

Hi Dorothy,

I am happy to report that Penny and I loved our rafting trip, and we can’t say enough good things about our wonderful guide, Britt. She’s an All-Star. Penny was very nervous (and a bit scared after hearing reports about the high water and rafting accidents on the river) going into the trip but Britt calmed her with her encouraging comments and her professional handling of the raft. Britt made it a fun, exhilarating, and most importantly, safe trip.

The guide in charge of the boat ahead of us, John, was also very professional and personable. Britt and John have a very good rapport and that added to the fun of the day. They also did a fine job as prep chefs, cutting up fresh fruit and vegetables and setting up a delicious sandwich bar for lunch. The only slip up was John’s fumble of the salsa, however, he did make a good catch to salvage most of it.

I found out about All-Outdoors through my niece, Sarah, who is good friends with one of your guides, Kate, who is also a great young lady. Penny and I will both highly recommend All-Outdoors to our friends and colleagues. From the moment we arrived at the meeting place in Lotus, we were treated with prompt, friendly, and professional service.

Hi Roxanne,

My boyfriend and I had such a blast!!! What a great day that was! The weather was perfect, and all of the guides were so fun to be around and really made us feel comfortable out there. Brit was the guide on our raft and she was fantastic. She really knew what she was doing out there and we had a lot of fun talking to her during the trip. We will definitely be rafting again with All-Outdoors! I would love to do one of your 2-day trips sometime…. I’m officially hooked!

Jennifer R. from Petaluma, CA rafted the South Fork on June 26 with three other passengers and caught up with us to say this:

Good morning Lenka,

We cannot say enough nice things about your staff and our rafting experience! We were greeted with welcoming smiles as soon as we arrived.

I thought it was very gracious of your staff to speak up and immediately introduce themselves while getting us fired up for the day ahead.

Erin, our guide, was particularly patient with one of our timid team members who had an anxiety attack just before put in. Erin gently quelled her fears!

The other rafters waited without rebuff and soon we were off without further incident. (fist on head!)
Our team will be back next summer to raft the Merced!

We have already referred All Outdoors to friends and family.

Camp Lotus was great – we ended up staying in the cabin since that is where the overnight car access trip camps. As you promised, the food was delicious, rafting was tons of fun, and our guide, Kelly, was the best! Thanks for everything you did to facilitate an incredible, memorable family vacation. I will highly recommend All Outdoors to anyone considering a whitewater rafting trip!
