Clyde K. and his family from Rancho Santa Margarita, CA had a great time on their two-day trip down the Tuolumne on September 21-22, and got back to us with these remarks:
Hi Dorothy, I wanted to let you know that the four of us had a great time on our Tuolumne 2 day trip. The rafting was exciting (perfectly challenging/interesting for my teenagers), it was just the kind of trip I was hoping for (although some of my muscles might beg to differ). Our guide Joe was great, he gave clear instructions and previewed what to expect so that we would be prepared as best possible before running each big rapid. The food was wonderful and plentiful. Everyone commented on how good it was. Other than at the launch site, we did not see anyone else besides our group for 2 days, which was nice and the camping and side hikes at Clavey were relaxing and fun. A very good trip with the All Outdoors team. Excellent planning/preparations were evident in the trip execution. Looking forward to rafting with AO again in the coming years.
Tuolumne -Day, August 4, 2011
Jammie B. and her family took a three-day trip down the Tuolumne and got back to us with this:
We absolutely loved it. The boys talked about the trip for two days after, non-stop. It was far above my expectations. The guides we fantastic and really made the trip. Thanks so much for the memories. We would love to make this an annual trip and if we are able we are definitely going with all out doors!
Tuolumne 3-Day, July 10-12th, 2011
Here we have some much appreciated feedback from Liam L., who came all the way from Ireland to California for a vacation with his family of four, and took a trip down the Tuolumne River:
We have just arrived back in Ireland after a fantastic vacation in California. We visited Yosemite, saw the wonderful scenery and were overawed by the sheer beauty of the place. We had a great week in Newport Beach, where we played some golf, did some deep-sea fishing and visited some incredible theme parks. Our last week was in Carmel, which was a little more restful and allowed us to recharge our batteries before returning home. Despite the wonderful experiences that we had at all these locations, the highlight of our vacation was undoubtedly our rafting trip with All-Outdoors.
Firstly, the organization was superb from start to finish. Secondly the rafting itself was exhilarating and exceeded all our expectations. The river conditions were very challenging which added to the excitement. The professionalism of the guides, particularly when it came to matters of safely was exemplary and in this regard I want to praise Adam, who kept a watchful eye on everything. All the guides were superb and made the trip an unforgettable experience for all who participated. By the way the food was also terrific. We ate like kings for 3 days and frequently marveled at the standard of food that the boys produced.
In every respect the adventure that we had with All-Outdoors delivered and will live long in our memories. I want to offer my sincerest thanks to you and to all concerned. We would love to do it again in the future.
Tuolumne 1-Day, July 5th, 2011
Mike A. and his three daughters from San Jose, CA had a good time on the Tuolumne River on July 5th, 2011. Here’s what he thought of the trip:
The trip we had was awesome! I think I will be disappointed next time, as the flow was so high we may not see that again for some time (10000 cfs). My 3 girls did a great job — nobody fell out — and performed great. I would love to do it again, maybe for a 2 day trip.
I am thinking of doing the Cherry Creek trip by myself maybe next year as well.
The guides were great, and were very careful and safety conscious.
Feel free to contact me next year.
Tuolumne 1-Day, North Fork Stanislaus 1-Day, July 6 + 11, 2011
Cherie F. and her son from Pleasanton, CA rafted the Tuolumne and the North Fork of the Stanislaus on the 6th and 11th and had some very enthusiastic feedback!
Our trip on the Tuolumne was the best rafting experience that I have ever had. I have done a total of about 12 rafting trips in CO, MT, & ID & CA with several companies, always seeking the best reputation. I have never had a guide that I had more confidence in than Adam. He was extremely competent & professional, with an exceptional personality. Adam was excellent with my son & Dylan is now interested in doing river rafting guide school in the future in Walnut Creek. Brad was a blast to raft with, also very competent. Drew was also a very positive addition to this trip & we look forward to the opportunity to raft with him in the future. The food was excellent on this trip & Nunie’s brownies were to die for. I would give this trip, a score of 10 out of 10. There was nothing in any way that was negative. This company apparently hires & trains extremely well & we will not be rafting with anyone else except AO in the future on the rivers that AO runs. I have also given this companies name to the many friends that have asked how our experience was.
Our guides Dave & ( I can’t believe that I forgot his name) that we rafted with on the North Fork of the Stan were also excellent. This was another highly positive & great experience for my son & I.
Merced 1-Day & Tuolumne 1-Day, May 21 & 22, 2011
Ally Heim and her mother Nancy from Dana Point, CA rafted the Merced with us on Saturday, May 21st and came back for a day on the Tuolumne on Sunday. Here’s what she had to say:
We had an AMAZING time! Thank you for all of your help in accommodating us. Both of our guides Joe and Adam were fantastic. We had such a great time on the Merced that we decided to do the Tulomne Sunday, and I am pretty sure that’s my new favorite river! We are looking forward to rafting with AO again very soon, perhaps Cherry Creek in August….. Thanks again to you and everyone at AO!!!
Feedback from this Year’s Most Frequent Floater
Harry Cardinale from New Jersey did 5 rafting trips with us this year!
South Fork Lower 1-Day
Another South Fork Lower 1-Day
Middle Fork 1-Day
and a South Fork Upper 1-Day
Here is what Harry had to say about his experiences…
Hola Claudette/ Diane/ Roxanne!!!!!!!!!!!!
Estupendo, Electrificante …………… Exhilarating are the words which comprise the distilled description of my epic rafting with AO this August!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The S. Fork American [upper and lower], the M. Fork American and the Tuolumne Rivers provided the endorphin rush that makes one feel truly ALIVE. [ even a cave diver, sky diver and Muay Thai kickboxer]
The white water, mountains, gorges and the pristine forests are majestic and really defy description.
Kudos and accolades to NOAH, CHARLES, MASON, “HORSE” and especially GREG [aka UNCLE DUNKEL]. It was a pleasure to meet Scott Armstrong and to thank him personally for recommending the kayak adventure and to tell him in person what a dedicated, personable and highly skilled team he has at AO. It also afforded the opportunity to reaffirm something he already knew- Uncle Dunkel is the MAN, the river guide’s river guide!!!
Will be back in the spring and request your assistance in providing the scheduling of the Tuolumne, North Fork American, North Stan, Middle Fork American and possibly the Merced.
HARRY from NJ
PS: You may elect to forward this email to the “gang”, especially Scott and Greg.
Tuolumne 2-Day Trip, August 13, 2010
A bit of feedback from down under from a couple who rafted the Tuolumne River…
i must admit emily and i had the best time of our lives!! our guide, Colin, was fabulous (it must be why he put us a lead boat) haha kidding. The food was awesome, everyone was friendly (even though emily thought it would be good to start a whip cream fight with “horse” but he was a good sport about it) and all in all just an amazing time. if i could rate it i would day 10 out of 10. We are now looking to do another trip for 3-5 days next year so if you have any recommendations let us know. i would love to get a few updates next spring but i live in Australia and this is my work email so too many personal emails and i will get in trouble (i don’t have a personal email).
thanks again for the awesome experience/trip and i will def recommend you guys to my aussie mates when they plan their trips to America.
Middle Fork American and the Tuolumne River, August 2010
Marie G of Carmel Valley, CA joined us for 2 rafting trips this month and had this to say of her experiences / adventures.
Hi Eric & Howard,
Wanted you both to know what a great time we had on both of our trips with AO. First on the Middle Fork with Matt Henry as our guide. Matt did a fantastic job of keeping us safe, focused & learning. Most of all Matt inspired us to book another trip immediately following that day on the Middle Fork.
On our next trip we had the pleasure of learning even more skills & gaining greater confidence with Noah on the Tuolumne. We were lucky to get paired with another adventure seeking group, they too hope to run Cherry Creek next year. Talking with Noah about Cherry Creek & preparedness was so helpful. He worked further with us on stroke quality, specifically the back paddle (we got bruises on the hip–we got it right!) & the importance of reading the river. We even saw a bald eagle, a very good omen!
All in all, AO has been fabulous to work with. Your staff is highly professional, prompt & attentive to every detail. We know we are in good hands as we aim for next year’s ultimate goal, thank you & extra thanks to both Matt & Noah!

Tuolumne 2-Day Trip, August 11, 2010
Some honeymooners out of Watertown, MA joined a Tuolumne 2-Day trip on their California honeymoon and sent back these remarks…
Thank you for the e-mail. Pete and I had a great time on the rafting trip last week!
We really enjoyed the rafting experience, and the variety of rapids we got to experience. The guides were all excellent, and we appreciate all that they did for us. They shared their knowledge of the Tuolumne, took us on interesting hikes, and were fun and knowledgeable guides as we navigated the river. The food was excellent, and we were impressed by the range of options at each meal.
Thanks for a great experience! We hope to be back the next time we visit CA.
